A brief history: |
Doylestown DART (Doylestown Area
Regional Transit) began operation on April 30, 2001.
Its purpose is to provide people who live and work in greater Doylestown
with an alternative to single-occupant automobiles. In the short
time since then, DART has grown into a highly successful public transit
system. Demand for DART has expanded its service area to locations
such as Delaware Valley College, and the recent addition of Saturday
service has proven popular with residents and visitors alike! DART
has enjoyed great success in the short time since its birth, and
management is constantly striving to expand and improve the service for
present and future riders! |

Who can use DART? |
EVERYONE! DART is a public transit
system that anyone and everyone is welcome to use! Whether you're
coming into town on SEPTA (DART connects with the R-5 train and Route 55
bus!) or live in Doylestown and just want to do some shopping across town,
DART is there to take you. |

Is DART just for Senior Citizens? |
Nope. No matter what your age, we
invite you to give DART a try. |

Can I take my bike on DART? |
As much as we hate to say "no,"... no.
Our buses are not yet equipped with bike racks, and regulations prohibit
having them on board. |

Are DART buses accessible for the
disabled? |
They certainly are. All of our buses
are equipped with wheelchair lifts for our disabled riders. Walkers
and other assistance devices may be brought on board, provided they can be
folded up and safely stowed. |

What is the fare? |
That depends. The standard cash fare
is $1. Tokens are available at select locations, twelve for $10.
Your SEPTA pass is also valid. Simply show it to the driver.
Senior Citizens (age 65+) ride free. Children under age 11
ride free when accompanied by a paying adult. |
